Would-be Blooper
« on: August 04, 2002, 08:02:09 PM »
We all know all the many bloopers on Dark Shadows, from actors flubbing lines to flies buzzing in witchhunters' faces. Bloopers are one of the aspects that makes Dark Shadows so endearing. If you could have seen a blooper that never really occured, what WOULD be the funniest mistake on the show?

My sister and I think it would be hilarious if, in a scene, Barnabas would be coming down the Old House stairs and he would trip and tumble down the steps. Once at the bottom, he would pick himself up gracefully and go on with the scene like it never happened. (Of course, he wouldn't be hurt). I think that would be the funniest thing I would have ever seen on t.v.

-Lindsey

P.S. My sister wanted me to ask this.  :) She loves bloopers.
"What is the truth?"
"That I love you.  No matter how much I fight my feelings, I will always love you."

I thought many times the table in the foyer would collapse while Nicholas was sitting on it - as I noticed it creeked every time.

The fake fangs of the Vampire characters (Barnabas, Angelique, Tom Jennings, etc.) would FALL OUT as they were going for the bite! ::)

Hey, there is an actual almost blooper concerning wigs and Grayson Hall...

SPOILERS again...

During the 1897 storyline Magda is involved in a struggle with Crazy Jenny ( I think), and at the end of the scene Grayson is suppose to fall to the floor.  Well, she does, but unfortunately that black wig had apparently come loose during the scene.  So...Magda is seen falling to the floor clutching the top of her head...thus saving a potentially *huge* blooper!

MrsJ.

(I would love to have heard Grayson's reaction to that one, lol).

Actually, I heard that there was an "almost-blooper" involving JF's fangs, too.  I guess they were on the verge of falling out in the scene where he first bites Maggie Evans, and he really struggled to position his mouth to keep them intact...nothing like opening wide and having your "toofies" clatter to the floor.  :D

Cheers,

Linda

LOL! That is hilarious.

I remember watching a tape of the 1993 DS festival and Lisa Richards (Sabrina) said something like "they only stopped shooting if your leg fell through the floor. And then they'd probably say 'oh well, they just got shorter.'"

I'm wondering if she is right. That would have been hilarious to see.

She had a lot of other hilarious things to say. Would be fun to meet her in person.

My Mom is visiting this week, so after we watched Dark Shadows on SciFi, we continued on with my MPI tapes. In one of the episodes we watched, Nicholas got off the table in the foyer, and  there was a loud creek!

SPOILER-ISH...

While watching the Parallel Time episodes, I kept hoping that Chris Pennock's "John Yeager nose" would fall off in the middle of a scene.

Regards,

John

Was it my imagination, or were there days when it really WAS sort of squished off to one side?  :)

Cheers,

Linda,

According to Chris Pennock, the "John Yeager nose" was actually the prosthetic worn by Jack Palance in DC's production of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"!  Talk about cutting corners!  No wonder it never fit properly, and could be seen coming loose in certain shots...

Regards,

John
