6 Things I Liked About the Dune Miniseries (and 6 I Didn't)

This is regarding Sct-Fi's 2000 version, not the new version with Timothée Chalamet.

I have to say I enjoyed Newman performance in this. But I watched it soon after he was cast for the '04 pilot and with an eye as to whether or not he would make a good Barnabas. The critique's the article makes toward Newman's Paul Atreides are actually pluses for Barnabas, so that could be why I felt he was really good in this.

It's interesting that a comment to the article says Newman was better in Children of Dune, the sequel. And I have noticed through the years that Newman did get good reviews for that. But it probably won't surprise anyone that even though I've owned the sequel just as long as I've owned the original, I've yet to watch it.  [ghost_nowink]
