Current Talk '15 I / NODS script Grayson!

Has anyone seen the NODS script with Grayson's notes. My God it's fascinating! What an actresses she was, with the subtext and reminding herself when to change her tone, mood, desire, at one certain syllable! Grayson was over the top on the show which I love. However, I think NODS is her most beautiful performance!

BTW...I am so happy to be back. Long story however, as much as I tried to help my cousin died of Drug addiction. We were really close and it brought me really down. I didn't check out on life but I was depressed. I have myself battled depression at times, in HS cause I knew I was gay, when I came out etc. So this hit me hard too. And he was only 24 and the sweetest soul you would ever meet! I HATE DRUGS!! I am glad to be back with my Cousins though. I have missed y'all!

I am so happy that I came to this wonderful board in 2004!! I have totally enjoyed every moment I have spent here. We have a wonderful group of people here and wonderful mods who I adore! I tell everyone I know what a wonderful board this is. I hope to be here many many more years to come. And I hope DS continues to grow with a possible TV Show or another movie in the future!!!

I hope it was okay to post this. I left a message for Magnus but he seems to not be getting them. I just thought if he saw this he could let me know if he can get messages here? He aparently deleted his FB account so I can't reach him there.

Once he replies feel free to delte this. Or if this wasn't the proper thing to do please go ahead and delte it. I just really need to contact him.

Calendar Events / Announcements '12 I / UNTILED FANZINE-Writers, artists, etc wanted! :)

Hey cousins...

I just wanted to remind everyone that I am working on a fanzine that should be out at the earliest by the first of the year and the latest by the middle of next summer. I have yet to determine which name I am going to use; although I have about four that I am playing around with.

About a year ago I posted to let all my cousins know that I am working on a zine. As far as I know fandom doesn't have an active paper zine at this time. Janet The Wicked actually contributed some wonderful art and stories for the zine. I also have wonderful fandom writers who are veterans like Jean Graham and Melody Clark who are submitting stories. There will also be stories by some of fandom best writers and artwork by one of fandom's best artist Sherlock. I also have two stories in the zine. One that I am so very proud of. It was a thought I had for years about a certain plotline and I feel that I was channeling some sort of muse because the story seemed to write itself.

We plan on putting out the best high quality fanzine like fandom hasn't seen in a long time. There are still many people out there who love to have tangible books in their hands and I know a lot of people are excited for this. I am so excited and totally humbled by all the nice things people have told me.

I also wanted to ask anyone that is intersted in submitting to the zine to get in touch with me. We are hoping to pack this zine full of great stories, artwork, etc. and shooting for about a two hundred page book.

I am also doing a special secession called DS: Through The Eyes of the Fans. This will be a secession devoted to people's personal recollections of how they came to love DS and what it means to them. Think of it like an essay. We especially could use some submissions for this secession.

If anyone here is intersted in sum bitting something or intersted in the zine. Please feel free to PM me.

It had been quite a while since I updated everyone on this. I wanted to let everyone know that I am actively working on it and would love to get some submissions from any of my wonderful cousins here on the boards.

Hey cousins....

I just wanted to let everyone know that I had a really hard summer. My grandmother was really sick and then my mother had a problem with her back but they could never find out what was wrong. She was on bed rest for two months. And most people on the boards know I have physical trouble as well. My mom and I mostly share household duties, so when she was so sick all of it was on me. I didn't mind to do it but it was hard for me to do everything and then sit on a computer just because I was usually in pain from have to do things that are hard for me. She also has an outside dog and she feeds her twice a day.

I said all that to say this. I have been posting mostly in the Deep movie forum; however, I plan to return (on Monday) to the WP. That is one of the things I have missed most about my time here on the DS boards. And of course having interaction with all you my dear cousins.

I am going to take get my grandmother for a doctors apt where I live and then bring her back for the Holidays so I can really start back until Monday!

I just wanted everyone to know why my presence wasn't here as much. I had someone ask me if something had happened to make me not like posting or visiting and that is NOT THE CASE AT ALL! I began to think others may feel that way so I just wanted to let you guys know what had happened!

Thank you guys for always being so kind and so helpful and just making this one of the biggest highlights of my day!

Hey guys. I hope no one thinks I am a cheap scape; however, as a couple of you know my situation with money is tight. A lot like it is for most Americans only it's a bit worse for me since I am still fighting to get my disability. So what little money I can scrap together I get to enjoy a couple things, like my comics. I am not looking for sympathy. If you know me as a friend you know what I have and still go through on a daily basis. So to I thought I would get that out of the way so no one think I am cheap. I just am a person who really needs the best deal. They are already trying to sell comic one for 17 dollar on Ebay so no luck there.

So I am writing to ask if anyone knows of a good on line site to order the new 2011 comics from. I have come across a few places but they are asking ridiculous amounts for postage. I order Charmed comics from a certain place and the prices are reasonable; however, they are not carrying DS! Can anyone help?/

I just purchased Collection 17 for 12.03! Amazing price from a 99 % seller. If you don't mind to buy from sellers besides Amazon mosey on over and see if any of the collection's you need are on sale. Enjoy! I saw several Collections on sale at these low prices. Not all but a few.

Current Talk '11 I / Laura The Phoenix --Your Thoughts?

I am creating this thread because I would like to give Laura some love. I want to add first that I don't think that Laura gets her due. My opinion is that if there was no Laura, they wouldn't have went all out and added the vampire. I remember one of the writers saying the same thing although it escapes me at the moment who it was. I personally think that the Laura story was an amazing preamble to what was to come on DS. I absolutely love the fact that this story is a great supernatural tale that is also composed of traditional soap elements as well. I think that if DS would have continued with this mantra instead of all manner of supernatural creatures running amok (1968 anyone) then the show perhaps wouldn't have ran out steam as quickly. Side note: I love 1968, but I am sure you get my point.

I also want to reflect on the fact that before I had seen the original show I was extremely intrigued by what was up with Laura in the Revival. [spoiler] When Maggie meets Victoria on the docks and explains what was going on with David and the fact that Laura was controlling him somehow; I was simply riveted. "His mother is in an institution in England" [/spoiler]I clearly remember watching that scene and the line sent chills down my spine.

When reviewing the 1991 Revival after watching the original; I feel that Laura would have turned out to be one of the most intriguing (for me) stories that would have been explored in Season Two of DS 1991. Unless we get a trilogy or perhaps a Star Trek like franchise I doubt Laura will be explored further; however, it would be glorious if it was.

Laura The Phoenix is definitely in my top five of favorite Dark Shadows storylines. And I have to give props to Diana Millay for her beautiful portrayal of The Phoenix. Miss Millay as The Phoenix will be emblazoned on my memory until the day I die! I am so grateful for whomever noticed that Laura was coming from Phoenix and created TV History!

I used to read PEREZ HILTON years ago; however, he became increasingly annoying to my ears eyes and soul. I didn't like how he bullied people and talked about them like they were not humans. I know he says he has reformed but I still choose to go to blogs that are uplifting and positive.

I said that to say this. I found out about Pinkisthenewblog.com when I was looking for celebrity news that was of the positive nature. I had been so busy recently that I hadn't been there in a while. I looked up DS and found out he had recently watched the REVIVAL! I thought it was cool that he had watched it as he is around my age. He points out that his mom was a fan of the original. I thought I would post this. There is also other articles if you search DS. And I also thought that if you like to learn about celebs this might be a place for you to visit. He also knows his facts as he points out the true reason the show was cancelled.

I like that he has a big HONKING AD for the Revival as well.

Calendar Events / Announcements '10 II / Annoucing a new fanzine!!

I wanted to make sure it was okay to write this on the boards and the moderators said it was.

I am currently working on a new untilted fanzine. It will be a one shot devoted to anything and everyting about the original DS and 1991 version. The fanzine is for charity and all the proceeds will go towards the restoration of Seaview Terrace. I was trying to come up with a way for me to give back and this what I do best. In 1998 I did my first fanzine called The Lara Zine. I am not boasting but it came out beautifully and was well received by many. Fanzines are currently very dead in fandom as TWODS is no longer being printed. And the only one I know of is Karlenzine. However, I feel that can change! Talking with fans I have learned that many still long for tangible material, books etc. So I have decided to put together a fanzine slated for Halloween of 2011! I have a great set of co editors and already there is lots' of enthusiasm and people are contacting me daily about ordering and/or submitting to the zine. If the zine sells well there may be more one shots and possibly a yearly zine in the future. I think it's a great time to strike with the upcoming movie fanzines could be introduced to a whole new generation. Fanzines still run strong in many other fandoms.

If you are an creative person and feel you have something to share please feel free to contact me if you are interested in contributing to this charitable endeavor. I will have two sections especially devoted to stories from those who have visited Seaview and a section called "Shadows Stories" with essays/stories about how people came to love Dark Shadows and fandom. Artist are the hardest to find so if you know of any artists or are an artist please get in touch with me. The deadline for submissions is August 1 2011!

I know there are several Buffy fans here so I thought I would post! Okay I know DS is being redone but come on the cast is older and many have passed on. However, all the cast of Buffy are still alive and Joss Whedon is alive and kicking? WHY? WHY? Sadly Joss sold the rights to Buffy years ago when to get the movie mad (which he ended up walking from) and when the show went to air he had to pay two people through the nose to do nothing. So now they are gonna reboot the franchise. Crazy!

The Bionic Woman is coming to DVD October 19Th! I know there are a lot of SCI FI fans and people who probably loved this show. I grew up on reruns but it and Wonder Woman were my faves.

Also Wonder Woman is being reworked for Television. I am a little nervous. I was excited about the movie but I love Television as you can go so much deeper! I think though the producers should do as before and do unknown casting calls as well. Lynda Carter hadn't done much at all when she was given WONDER WOMAN!
