*** TREVOR WILLIAMS (DS PRODUCTION DESIGNER) DIES

The sad news was recently released that Trevor Williams died of a heart attack at age 76 while vacationing in England 2-14.

He was born in Harrow, England. His career included designing for features such as "Futureworld," "Pretty Baby," the "Police Academy" movies, and both films "House of DS" and "Night of DS." He also designed for TV's "Little House on the Prairie." He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, daughter, brother, and 4 grandchildren.

*** JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT (1991 DS David, Daniel) IN NEW MOVIE "STOP-LOSS"

SG Online Update #182 and recent SG print issues have reported his news about his co-starring role as "Tommy Burgess" in "Stop-Loss," a fact-based drama about a squad of soldiers in the Iraq War who return home to face the adjustment to civilian life - and a call-back to serve another tour of duty. It opened nationwide yesterday, March 28.

*** RARE FRENCH FILM WITH GRAYSON HALL TO BE RELEASED ON DVD

Grayson appeared as fashion magazine editor "Miss Maxwell" in the 1966 French-language satire "Qui Etes-Vous, Polly Magoo" - "Who Are You, Polly Magoo?", by director/screenwriter William Klein, with a musical score by famed composer Michel Legrand. Under the English title, the b&w movie is one of three films due for 1 5-20 release in a 3-disc set called "The Delirious Fictions of William Klein."

Netflix description: "Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo? (1966) (Not Rated) Supermodel Polly Maggoo (Dorothy McGowan) is at the center of a whirlwind of publicity. As she discusses her life with a television crew, she embarks on flights of fancy that include a 'Prince Charming' (Sami Frey), animated interludes and aluminum-foil clothing. This satire provides a scathing look at the fashion world as viewed by writer-director William Klein, the photographer and filmmaker who specialized in skewering the 1960s' sacred cows."

Grayson was a popular actress on DS as "Julia, Natalie, Magda," and other characters. She died of cancer 8-85 after a long career in film, TV, and stage, including the 1964 Oscar nomination for her "Judith Fellowes" in Tenneessee Willliams' "Night of The Iguana" with Richard Burton. For interested fans, I have photocopies of the SG pages in 9-85 with media obituaries and SG's tribute to Grayson. Please send a business-size SASE to the SG address below for these pages. Also, "Grayson Hall: A Hard Act to Follow" is her biography written by R. J. Jamison. Website: rjjamison.com

*** ADRIAN PAUL TV MOVIE DUE ON DVD
He starred as "Ananias Dare" in the 17th-century thriller "Lost Colony" on Sci Fi Channel 10-13-07. The dvd has a 5-20 release date. Publicity: "Adrian Paul stars in this TV movie about English colonists who become prey to an ancient evil and mysteriously disappear."

Adrian played "Jeremiah" in the 1991 primetime DS TV series. More information about "Lost Colony" is in the SG #112 print issue.

*** Please share with SG any reviews, articles, or publicity materials you find about "Stop-Loss," "Polly Magoo," and"Lost Colony."  Please send all materials to SG's e- or postal- mail addresses below.

*** SPECIAL DS ITEMS AVAILABLE FROM THE DS FESTIVAL

The Fest asks SG to tell fans that "only a handful of original DS ABC-TV 16mm kinescope negatives remain. They are available only from the Fest website. Also, the 2009 DS Calendar is now available for order." The Fest website and postal-mail address are in the first part of this Update.

--- Panel Discussion About The New Johnny Depp DS Movie

It's nice to see that this wording is much clearer than the wording in the flyer:

Panel Discussion For New DS Movie with Johnny Depp

which a friend pointed out could make some people think Depp will be taking part in the discussion. The flyer's wording is certainly grammatically correct because it does say "DS Movie with" and not "Panel Discussion with" - though some could still misinterpret it by lumping the whole "Panel Discussion For New DS Movie" together. Although, who's to say that wasn't deliberate. It wouldn't be the first time that something in the flyers could be misleading in a possible hope of attracting more people.  [ghost_wink]
