From Parade magazine--
Tim Burton "shares his favorite monsters, madmen, and villains in the movies," and had this to say about Barbara Steele:
[Her] breakout performance as Katia Vajda/Princess Asa Vajda in Mario Brava's
Black Sunday
(1960) is a testament to her unsual, haunting beauty. There's no mistaking why Steele went on to become the Queen of Italian Horror.

How I wish he could find a part for her in the DS movie. Wouldn't she have been a terrific Maleva in
The Wolfman
?

Considering Burton obviously is a fan of Steele, maybe there's actually hope. And there is a sort of precedent with Burton because he's used Christopher Lee, one of his favorite horror icons, in several of his films.
