What an action-packed episode! And some good lines too:

Mordecai to Jeremy: And don't go tom-catting around the village, or I'll hear about it!

Not only is Quentin’s weskit unbuttoned, but his shirt is starting to come untucked, so great is his anxiety when Gerard arrives at last. Quentin to Gerard: Well, well, well, what an unexpected pleasure!

Finally the scales have fallen from Quentin's eyes about Gerard, but it only makes things worse.

Very sweet scenes with Jeremy and Carrie. Carrie has dressed to the nines for her sylvan rendezvous--under her cloak we can see she's wearing her grown-up blue dress, and she has bows and things in her hair.

Doesn't Mordecai look just a little ridiculous in his very tall hat? And what about his taste in home decor? What's with that coat tree made of what look like cow horns? Has Mordecai found an innovative use for the cattle that Quentin supposedly killed?

Yeah, I liked that one too.

Yup, take Quentin's inheritance, and he says, “It’s fine, Gerard's still my friend,” but take Quentin's girl, and suddenly Gerard's a dirty low-down snake-in-the-grass.

Really?  I thought Jeremy was starting to look like a chip off the old block: very dictatorial.

I think the shadow that got Mordecai wasn't the exact same one that Angelique used during the Leviathan storyline, but it was every bit as silly looking.  I'm surprised they didn't try to do better this time around.  The whole idea of the shadow is a good one, so it's a pity the execution was bad.  Thayer David deserved better.  But then, Thayer David always deserves the best.  And by the way, didn't Mordecai's hair look weird after he fell?

Daphne: "I'm going to marry Gerard Stiles." Good. Go. Go! Go on your stupid honeymoon to the pits of Hell! (Can you tell I'm not a fan of Daphne & Gerard?)

Was it me or was somebody asleep while holding the sound boom when Quentim turned away from Daphne? It reminded me of the scene from Singin' in the Rain where they are trying out sound recording for the first time.

For some reason Carrie & Jeremy reminded me of Oscar & Hammerstein's 1965 teleplay of Cinderella. Their love scenes were all so sweet and cute and fairytale stuff. Gag!

Is that James Storm's real hair or is he wearing a wig made of clay?

As to Grimes' hat - I believe they used to call that a "stove pipe hat" and, yeah. That's exactly what it is. He looks like he walked out of a Dickens story.

I rather enjoyed Grimes' house. It's very New Englandy. The coat tree made me think of a very large beetle about to attack some poor minor creature.

I get a kick out of these guys who think they're so clean, when all the time they're trying to cover up their dirt.

Daphne: "Quentin, I can't see you anymore!"   Q1 should have answered, "I'm right here!   Can you hear me?"   That's the only comment I wrote down...

I guess Jeremy Grimes can say or do anything and still be a sweetheart, that's just how much of a dreamboat he is...  The second he comes onscreen internally I go, "Oh, come on!"   He doesn't have to open his mouth... I overload and overdose instantly on the utterly photogenic dreaminess.   This is sarcasm.
