yesterday just before King Johnny made his appearance. .Magda was wandering around the trashed Drawing Room.  She picked up her skirt. .i swear it looks like Grayson had on a pair of pants. . .it didn't look like a long slip.. .  what time of year was this filmed, was she cold?  That skirt looks pretty substantial/warm to me. . ?? If she was also wearing polyester crinolines I wouldn't blame her for wearing pants.....those things could scratch like a 2-day beard!

I always consider pants optional.
We sing, we dance.....and we don't need pants!

IIRC this was filmed around the same time Woodstock was being held in upstate NY, so this would have been August of '69.  Maybe it was cold that summer.  :-

Didn't women wear pantaloons under their skirts back then? Not only would it be a form of modesty(covering the legs when lifting the skirt but to protect against itchy, scratchy material? Just a guess. Wasn't Scarlett O'Hara in her bedroom with a camisole and ruffled pantaloons before she was dressed for the picnic?

They probably were pantaloons..(isn't that such a fun word to say? ;D)

Funny how words stay with a person.  Back in college English, read a short story by author whose name I can't remember (or even content of the story) but the title stays with me.."Pantaloons in Black".

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.
