Title: Episode #1229
Post by: CTP/FITBs on June 04, 2011, 04:36:50 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Unless by some stretch of the imagination, Peter Potamus turned out to be her Ideal.

([pointing-up]  Well, there is always that. And he couldn't have possibly been worse than Bramwell!!  [easter_rolleyes])

There are very few things that might actually be worse than Bramwell.

I remember reading back in  the 1970's (don't remember where anymore) that Frid considered Bramwell to be his favorite character.  Really?!?

([pointing-up]  Yes, Frid said that in at least two different early '70s interviews. Though, remember, that was back when he was still afraid that playing Barnabas had typecast him and he wanted to distance himself from Barnabas as much as possible. But interestingly enough, once Frid began appearing at Fests, he walked back that remark somewhat to say he enjoyed playing Barnabas and Bramwell equally as much. Although, I wonder how much of that was the fact that for years no one was even able to see him as Bramwell because the 1841PT eps were never syndicated and didn't become available until MPI began to release them on VHS in November of '93 and the Sci-Fi Channel began to run them in February of '95? Not to mention how much he may have been "persuaded" by Jim Pierson to backtrack?)

He made that statement at the 1983 Shadowcon too. I think that was only his second convention appearance, so he may well have been oblivious to the fact that the fans vastly preferred Barnabas to Bramwell.

(Well of course he should say what he thinks, not just agree with fans...)

([pointing-up]  Very true. Though he retracked it about a dozen years later, so who knows? However, I am sure he fully believed it at the time he initially said it...)
