Wrapping the scene up:
Getting no response from Alex, Claire gives an unscripted call to him, which both the subtitles -
- and the closed captioning -
- reflect - and after there's still no response, Claire suddenly realizes something odd is going on - and after she gets up and looks in the Living Room, she sees what's happening to Alex and screams out an unscripted, "Alex!" - and that's also reflected by both the subtitles -
- and the closed captioning -
End of scene.
...
As I brought up the other day, Scene 176 is very different in the film compared to the script ... and about the only thing that survives in the film from the script is that Scene 176 takes place in the Living Room of the Jenkins cottage - the events that take place in the room are very different, ... and Scene 177 is also very different, but more on that later - so perhaps what we're going to deal with next is best thought of as a Scene 176A, even though no such designation is made in the script, but then, nothing that we're about to deal with is actually in the script.
So, things start off with Claire in bed asleep in her room - and after she wakes up and realizes Alex isn't with her, she delivers an unscripted, "Alex, come to bed." - and that's reflected by both the subtitles -
- and the closed captioning -
- and after that Claire asks an unscripted, "What time is it?" - and that's also reflected by both the subtitles -
- and the closed captioning -
To be continued...

You'll never find anyone else who would want to buy this place! Roger argues with Liz. Burke smokes a cigarette. Collinwood is not for sale, says Liz. You yourself have said it's dreary, drafty and desolate, Roger reminds her--why not get rid of it? Sell Collinwood?--you must be joking, insists Liz. I am not joking, says Roger, the money we would get, we could get a place much more practical, a place we would really enjoy. Out of the question, says Liz, I can't imagine this place belonging to anyone but a Collins--this isn't the kind of place you buy and sell--our great-grandfather didn't buy it, he built it himself, for his family--and that's the reason why I kept it--in hopes David would someday feel the same way I do. I'm very sure that David would feel the way I feel about it, says Roger--I would be willing for the place to burn down tomorrow! Burke looks pleased. Then why not sell it to me? asks Burke. Whether Roger likes it or not is beside the point, says Liz, I'm sure you understand MY feelings about Collinwood, and how you must have known I would never consider selling it--I don't even know why you asked!
As far as the differences in the dialogue go, Claire actually wakes up in what I suppose we could say is a Scene 176A in the film and, unscripted, she calls out -
"Alex, come to bed."
- followed by asking -
"What time is it?"
- and then calling to -
"Alex."

Speaking of game shows, I wonder which DS characters would perform well on “Jeopardy”?
I could see such well-read DS characters as Elizabeth Stoddard, Professor T. Elliott Stokes and, of course, Barnabas Collins (with all of the reading he probably did on those long nights in the Old House) all succeeding on that venerable TV game show.
Now, as to Willie Loomis, Buzz Hackett, Bruno Hess and Matthew Morgan doing well on “Jeopardy,” that’s a COMPLETELY different situation!
DS Jeopardy! Question....er, answer! on tonites show.
Seems to me I remember Dark Shadows being a category at least once on Jeopardy. I definitely remember KLS's book being the high dollar question under the category of "Almanacs" as well as a question on Willie Loomis. ...
