Title: Episode #1110
Post by: CTP/FITBs on November 28, 2010, 07:22:19 PM
[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Are Edith and Gabriel the most openly hostile couple on DS?

Nope, I think I would vote for Quentin and Maggie from 70 PT , with William and Carolyn  from 70 PT a close second.

([pointing-up]  Oh, I don't know. In all that we saw of them Gabriel and Edith were consistently hostile with one another. Quentin was hostile, but Maggie rarely was. And with Carolyn and Will one could see that at one point they definitely loved each other, and at least on Carolyn's part, she still loved Will. One really has to wonder how Gabriel and Edith ever got together? If there was ever even the slightest fraction of love between them, it was long gone...)

Maybe Edith and Gabriel had an arranged marriage? It might also explain why their children are away at school. Gabriel did manage to surpass Quentin by producing more than one child. But apparently he didn't actually want them around.

([pointing-up]  Apparently not. Though truthfully, by sending their children to boarding school, Gabriel and Edith were actually protecting their children better than Quentin and Samantha did!!)

I'll bet those kids had abandonment issues!!

Guess I considered Gabriel and Edith more snarky than hostile and PT Quentin hostile enough for the both of them...then again, I'm probably biased since I'm hostile to almost everything to do with 70 PT ...lol.

(No doubt! And given all the other intrinsic issues that the Collinses seem to have to deal with, can you even imagine how much therapy they really needed but never got. But then, would we really want Collinses who are well adjusted? Hell no!! Where would the fun be in that?!  [laughing11])

Well adjusted children should remain off camera.😉😉😉

([pointing-up]  Exactly!! Although, whichever one of Gabriel and Edith's children produced Judith, Edward, Quentin and Carl couldn't have possibly been well adjusted - not given their issues!!  [ghost_nowink])

All too true! I guess the best that can be hoped is that there would be relatively few family curses.😉😉

([pointing-up]  Well, we know of only one: Quentin's.  Though Judith and Edward certainly had their own crosses to bear, what with Trask and Laura. And, well, Carl ended up dead after he discovered Barnabas' secret. Not exactly a generation untouched by tragedy. But then, what generation ever got away unscathed?!)
