vicki,in her little mustard colored suit,is perplextion personified in the early 1795 episodes.i think at one point barnabas suggests that she might feel better if she took a nap(!) and vicki agress that she might. ::)

speaking of that dumb suit...after abigail sends those witches rags away to be burned vicki asks jeremiah to retrieve them because she is "going to need them" when she gets back to her own time.as if with all that is going on with the time-travel and the witch-hunting getting her hands on some ohrbach's suit would really be a priority.

i'm not sure if it's the character at her absolute best or her absolute worst?

barnabas is still a meanie for a few episodes immediately following 1795.in particular he does one infuriatingly inconsistent thing...
he bites vicki.something even "mean" early barnabas couldn't bring himself to do.it was an integral part of the plot.
we don't really get "nice" barnabas again until he and vicki get into the car crash and he is treated by dr.lang.

i totaly agree.

it would be unbelievably tacky to ask ms.isles anything about d.s. during a panel discussion about her new film.

privately if the right moment occasions itself perhaps.

as far as that "other matter" is concerned who even cares about that any more?it's such old news and only a really dreadful person would embarass her with any mention of it at all.

thanks for the info about the june 6th screening victoria.

gothick,

of course i've seen the "too funky" video.fabulous.but the ne plus ultra of supermodels(linda, christy, naomi, titiana, cindy)lipsynching to george michael is "freedom".

but this is a bit off-topic so.... ;)

Current Talk '06 I / Re: Maggie's Ring

this came up recently in another thread.
after barnabas confiscated maggie's ring he planted it in willie's room when the police were investigating her disappearance so it would look like willie had abducted her.one can assume the police kept the ring during the investigation and then returned it to maggie once it was over.
what i'd really like to know is what became of those earings that prompted maggie to keep returning to the old house.that was one of the great abandoned plots.

i'm glad you're enjoying these episdoes buzz.

i was fully prepared to despise this storyline but i actually ended up enjoying it too(despite all of the numerous problems with it).

i'll have to feel the situation out.

i don't want to make ms.isles uncomfortable or make "us" look wierd.
but since she has not thus far ever attended a fest i would like to meet her.

funny,in my line of work i get to see everybody and i'm always as cool as a cucumber.the only "celebrity" who left me flustered was supermodel linda evangelista(another weird obsession of mine)and,of course, alexandra if i do indeed get to meet her.

Current Talk '06 I / episode #490

for those of us who have some of the early marilyn ross novels check out today's slide-show.

the cover shots for "the mystery of collinwood" and a few others must have been taken during the production of this episode.either in it's filming or dress rehearsal.

vicki is wearing the same trench coat and the same hairdo and barnabas is wearing the same gray three piece suit and tie.it looks like dr.lang's house is the backdrop as well.

being a new yorker i'm really going to try to check this out.

i'm slightly ashamed to admit that i would attend the screening of what is surely a fine documentary for d.s.ish reasons but that's just how it is.

as far as the "meet and greet" goes i'm not sure how i'd handle it.should i just gaze from afar or attept a stammered introduction?could i disguise my d.s. fan-ish-ness or would she instictively know? ::)

they did show willie's bedroom set on at least one occasion.
when the police were investigating maggie's disappearance in 1967 barnabas being the nice guy that he was at the time planted maggie's ring in willie's room in order to frame him for her kidnapping.
when barnabas wasn't in the vampire state(which ended up being a considerable period of time)i doubt he slept in that dark and dank basement.

he must have demanded very comfortably appointed gentlemen's quarters upstairs.that would have been a great set to see.

in general i'm very disappointed in the lack of innovation coming out of mpi's products department.

i haven't recieved the catalogue recently but the last time i did they were still hawking that stupid ornament from the 1990's and those boxers.and every year those sad wares end up on mpi's table at the fest.who wants that junk?

knowing what a devoted fanbase d.s. has i'm amazed they don't issue new products every year.the possibilities are endless.jigsaw puzzles, word games, paper dolls, bound episode guides.how about a re-issue of the board game or the trading cards?there is really nothing new.

on another note i'd love to see that commercial featuring terry crawford.because her character appeared as a ghost in the present she is one of the very few actresses on the show we never get to see in contemporary clothing.because she is so tall i'll bet she was a knock-out in a mini and she probably had really pretty hair as well.
