Forgive me if this has been reported already (couldn't find it if it was), but SHADOWLAND MAGAZINE recently published a great 7 page article on Dan Curtis in their most recent issue. And their previous issue (which I don't have) had an article on Jonathan Frid.

Issue # 4 - Spring 2012
Jonathan Frid, the Real Barnabas Collins

Issue # 5 - Summer 2012
Night Stalking: The TV Terror of Dan Curtis

Current Talk '12 I / DS '91 Revival - *New* UK DVD release!
« on: May 30, 2012, 09:54:57 PM »
Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere (I couldn't find anything using the search box), but last month the 91 series was released on DVD in the UK, and it looks like it's a big improvement on the crappy US release from a few years back.

According to the specs given (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-Shadows-Revival-Complete-Series/dp/B007K4PVFI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338379765&sr=8-1), it's in 4:3 fullscreen! Has anyone picked up this release? And if so, can you give me a rundown of it? Is it truly in the ORIGINAL un-cropped aspect ratio? And what about the day for night scenes and picture tint/coloring? From the runtime I'm assuming it's the original NBC broacast versions and not the extended MPI version, but if the rest is "as it was meant to be", then this is major improvement and a must get...

The original series is mentioned in the "Dracula: Fact and Fiction" documentary which is on disc 2 of "The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones Volume 3: The Years of Change" DVD set . Still/promotional shots of Barnabas and others are shown and one of the people interviewed talks about the series. It's pretty cool. Check it out if you get the chance.  [ghost_smiley]

Some of you may have heard about this already, but it was news to me. The wonderful Joanna Going and her infant daughter were on board that recent Jet Blue flight that made a scary emergency landing with the landing geer out of commission. Thank God everything turned out well.

Also, I found some recent pictures of Joanna attending the 3rd season premiere of her husband's (actor Dylan Walsh) show Nip/Tuck.

She looks as beautiful at age 42 as she did at age 27 when she did Dark Shadows and she could still play Victoria and Josette IMHO. :)

Current Talk '05 II / Looking for Promotional Pictures from 1991 series
« on: October 03, 2005, 03:48:06 PM »
I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find hi-res scans of some of the many promotional pics (8x10s, etc...) that were taken for the 1991 series? Specifically, I'm looking for these photos: http://www.geocities.com/snycentral/DS1991.png or photos similiar to them (ie from the same photo shoots). I've only been able to find very small scans of these on the web. I need them much bigger. Some of these were used as covers for MPI's Video Releases, so if anyone has a really good scanner able to scan these at a hi-resolution (4 times its size), that'd be great! Same goes with glossy 8x10s...  Anyone...?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.  ;D

Thanks,
Dan

Current Talk '05 II / Font for 1991 Dark Shadows logo?
« on: September 29, 2005, 02:07:02 AM »
Does anyone know what the FONT used for the 1991 series logo/lettering is?  I've found a few that sort of look like it like OLDENG.TTF which is quite close, but none of them are "the one".
