(David Letterman's big catchphrase in the '80s was "And I guess we all know how painful that can be."   He pulled that out as a sort of punchline on about a thousand occasions, and I think he still says it once in a very great while, out of nostalgia, maybe...)

...they slipped on the floor.  The coffin went flying through the supposedly brick wall, Frid went flying into a vat of dry ice, and worst of all by far, a fully lit candelabra was knocked over and tragically destroyed Grayson Hall's last six cartons of cigarettes.

 [pointing-up]  Something tells me he probably did. After all, to DC's estimation, everyone in the audience had short attention spans (apparently like his), so he probably figured most would just miss seeing the whole incident because their minds had wandered elsewhere.  [wink2]  ::)
