Mark, so sorry to learn of so many troubles all at once for your family.  Wishing all the best for everyone.  I hope Allison will have a speedy recovery and that all will be well.  Supposedly things happen in 3s, so I'll take that to mean that it's the end of your problems!!

Marcus - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Having met and befriended both Peg and Allsion, it saddens me that they have had medical problems. I'm glad your Mom and Peg are doing better, and I'm sure Allison will recoup as well. Please give her my best for me, she is indeed a way cool girl :)

Hi Mark, I hope this finds you and your family well. My sister also had a blood clot several years ago due to the birth control she was taking, it was a scary incident. I hope your daughter, your wife and your Mother are feeling well soon. You're all in my thoughts and best wishes to all for a swift recovery.

glad to hear she is in good hands and will stay a little longer in the hospital
they do hurt a lot and BCPs and smoking aren't a good combo but thank god
they were able to catch it and treat it

Sorry for the lateness of this reply.  I just found this thread, and thought the seriousness of this subject warranted my reading and posting attention, even at this late date.

Thanks again for all the good wishes. Allison is home and is feeling more or less normal again; the pain is mostly gone, but she's still supposed to take it fairly easy for a while. She's giving herself injections (I believe the drug is called Cumodin), which she'll be on for the foreseeable future. But that seems a small price to pay to get something akin to peace of mind after such an experience.

My mom is recovering pretty well. In fact, I'm at the old homestead this weekend, just to give her a hand around the place. Things look good for a full recovery.

My wife still has more health problems than the law allows. If she were a horse...
