Favorite 1897 Moment - Poll #4
« on: December 02, 2002, 12:02:43 PM »
In the interest of keeping us entertained and in the 1897 spirit while the show is on hiatus, I thought I'd create some polls pertaining to what we've witnessed so far in the Sci-Fi aired 1897 storyline.

The 1897 Favorite Moment polls will be open until December, 8th. The top 2 choices from each poll will be combined to make one final poll (to be posted to the Dark Shadows Forums December, 9th) to determine the Dark Shadows Forums members favorite moment from the aired 1897 episodes.

All Dark Shadows Forums 1897 polls final results will be posted to the Forums December, 14th.

For those of us in need of a refresher course, posted below are the corresponding Robservations to each choice.

This was a tough one to make a choice of.
So I went with Quentin welcoming Edward home.
Edward's reaction was such a great one :)

You just can't help but love the "Carl pulls a prank on Edward" scene!  Thought that was hysterical!  To see the look on the pompous, stuffy straight laced Edward's face was truly priceless to say the least.  Carl was a total riot too!  Well, at least Carl was being true to himself. Sure, he may have been acting a tad too silly, especially right after Grandmama died, but at least he wasn't walking around with a sour puss face on like the rest of the hypocrites!

I voted for the "What color is a lie?" speech.  That scene has always mesmerized me.  I've seen it numerous times and could watch it for many more without growing tired of it.  I enjoy all of Jenny's scenes, but that one is among my favorites.

This group was harder as they were all kind of "tamer."  There were some good moments there, but nothing that jumped out at me as much.  I finally went with Edward "welcoming" Laura, as the look on his face when he saw her was very good.

I'm with Josette on this, these are hard to decide on, and they each feature really strong moments from the 1897 storyline; Jenny and Carl are really inspired characters, so they sort of cancelled each other out for me.

I had to go with Edward welcomes Laura home.  Think that Louis Edmonds was just brilliant as Edward - such a self-righteous stuffed shirt.  And I enjoy Diana Millay's Laura in the 1897 setting better than the 1960's version.  The characters' exchange here is priceless; you can read so much between the lines about what their relationship must've been like when they were together.  And none of it's pretty.

I loved how you put this Cassandra Blair so Im going with you on this one here.  "Edward- such a self-righteous stuffed shirt?"  LOL!!!  Couldn't have said it better myself.

I myself enjoyed that scene when Edward welcomes Laura home and the look on his face was indeed priceless.
