Announcement about restoration/DVD release of the DS movies.

LOL...I'm getting ready to transfer my VHS copies to DVD, so they'll last longer--at least till I die, since WB is not likely to release them in my lifetime (sorry, Darren. . .I know what you've been told, but I'm not confident. . .)

If you have the NODS taped off Turner, I'd recommend using that. It has the correct sound mix which isn't on the VHS tape.

Thanks, Darren.  I do have that one, and it's the only one I can use.  The MGM/Turner VHS is copy-protected.  Odd, because HODS is not.

From reading all the postings here, I take it Warner Bros. has stated they will not be releasing either HODS or NODS on DVD ... is that right?  Why was Darren's original post explaining this deleted?

Darren, I'm assuming that TPTB didn't actually read your announcement on this forum but rather on some other DS BB (assuming that this forum isn't the only place you'd posted it)?

It's my own fault. I was a bit premature in posting it and was caught out in a moment of weakness...After drumming up all the support for the Warner chat I was anxious to give some feedback as to the results...I thought it was deserved by those who tried to take part., but I should have held off or softened it a bit.

Well, I think your frustration was more than understandable. You've been championing the restoration for four years and through no fault of your own you haven't seen your efforts move forward all that much.

I suppose I can understand their point - but at the same time I honestly believe that you don't have anything to be embarrassed about.

Embarrassed is how Warner Bros should be, they told ME on the chat they'd be releasing HoDS, so, hello, it wasn't Darren's enthusiasm, but Warner's lack of integrity.

Well, in my opinion, it's those corporate boneheads who should be embarrassed.

There's a clear, well defined and substantial market for restored DVD releases of the DS films, so the tude being displayed by these bozos can be put down to people with more money than sense running their firm.

It's called CENSORSHIP and it sucks to put it bluntly! I think TPTB underestimate the number of people who would buy a DVD with HODS and restored NODS on it.
