Calendar Events / Announcements '04 I / OT<Soap Net
« on: January 15, 2004, 02:44:42 PM »
On Sunday, I was scrolling throught the channel outlook (for those who don't have digital, it's likethe concept of tvguide channel, but instead of 3 channels being shown and slooooowly scrolling, you see like 15 at once & you control when you switch, plus you can get a description of every show/every channel).

Anyway, the only 2 shows in my line up in the 90s are CSpan & CMT...but...it says Soap (which is usually my channel 120).

It said OLTL on ch. 96 AND Soapnet on ch. 120. They were both showing Soapnet, but, as of Sunday...I seem to have TWO Soapnets (not different, they show they exact same show/same time), but, has anyone else noticed this?

COME ON DS...LET'S GO TO SOAPNET!!

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Temp. Internet Files
« on: January 12, 2004, 10:01:51 PM »
So, I was clicking around, trying to not be so afraid of my 'puter.

I clicked on disk clean up, which one of the things was TEMPORARY INTERNET FILE (I can never find this!!)

I decided to see what was on here; first, they're all a bunch of alphanumeric files (ie, A4L6D9 ).

The first one I clicked on had alot & it took a moment to load. There were lots of the rock group Evanescene, which I attributed to my daughter.

But, as I continued to let it load, there were also things like a car pic from Detroit auto show, which IIRC, was a pic on msn's main page??? ALSO, there was the green happy crowd smileys FROM HERE. ALSO!!! Mark Rainey's scary face (but it didn't switch) was on there????

Next alphanumeric was I believe merchandise I was looking at last week from Oriental trading; like allll the merchandise.

Then, there were some that have the (I don't know what the icon is called, it's blue on top and I never know how to access/open it) and it wouldn't let me delete them....THESE WERE PRIMARILY NAMED YABBSE!!

????????

Patti

(Can I prevent stuff from here from downloading to my 'puter?)

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Calendar Woes
« on: January 09, 2004, 11:24:45 PM »
Is anything wrong with the calendar?
I've tried to post a couple of things, I get an error message (you're not allowed access).

Also, the other day was Brian's b-day, but he wasn't listed on calendar, so I tried to post. I couldn't, I e-mailed dom, he couldn't.

Is everything okay?

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / DVD v. VHS Question
« on: January 07, 2004, 02:38:45 AM »
Buy.com

Okay, that link will take you to a site that you can buy the movie, "Uptown Girls".

This isn't important, but if you look, the DVD is $18.99, where as the VHS is $42.99!!!

Can anyone tell why the discrepancy?

And, is this the way things are going (meaning, will all DVDs be the standard $19.99 and VHS $10000000?)

Inquiring minds want to know ;)

Patti

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 I / Screen Saver Question
« on: January 05, 2004, 10:05:47 PM »
I thought there was something about DS screen savers.

I put that (ds screen savers) in the search, nada.

Does anyone know of where I could get free/legal DS screen savers AND, once I go to the site, how do I save them to where all the screen savers on my computer are?

Thanks,

Patti

Tomorrow....a sad day :(

I will truly miss being able (occassionally) to watch 'live'.

I'll miss my cousins daily messages; who's clothes were fun/ny, who flubbed their lines, who noticed Mike R. Phone....the beloved inconsistencies which make DS DS.

sad sad sad

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Most On Line
« on: December 29, 2003, 11:01:30 PM »
I see from the main info page, on Nov. 12th, there were 21 Cousins logged on.

First...is this people like myself who click "Always stay logged in"? Or is it people really on?

Second...having 21 people on at same time...did that make things 'clog'?

Earlier today (Wednesday), when I went in, the topics had Christmas balls next to them; red for new, green for no new.

Now at home...it's back to the diamonds.

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / This Mouse is Stirring....
« on: December 22, 2003, 06:10:59 PM »
At work (as I am now), I was recently *&%*%$ at the mouse.

Then I said, duh, why not get my boss a new one for Christmas.

Just gave it to him (and his coffee grinder & coffee beans).

I (thanks MB) first had gone to cnet, they gave some info, I shopped Gateway.

Here's my question...it's an 'optical mouse'. There's no ball....how does it work? Will it run down on batteries?

There's gotta be some catch, right?

Thanks,
Patti
