Joe, you know the issue isn't about censorship but rather about privacy.  While fans are aware that he suffered due to AIDS, the cause of death stated in his obituary was cancer. I removed your other message in this thread because I found your characterization of a tragic disease to be offensive and because I feel that the private motives of any star's family is simply none of our business.

I've answered this question a few times on this board and don't recall my answer being removed. Afterall, what's the big deal?

The post in which Nancy said this is repeated here because the original quoted a message that was removed from the board. To answer your question, Nancy, since all publications, including his obituary as well as ShadowGram, have stated the cause of his death as having been cancer, posts stating otherwise have been removed from the board.

I acknowledge that it's been commonly known within fandom that he suffered from the AIDS virus, and I'm most likely going out on a limb by even saying that, but it's still the policy of this board to choose published information over posts that repeat what has been spread through fandom by word of mouth, and out of respect for his family's privacy, any further discussion about his illness, his family, or any other aspect of his private life WILL be removed from this or any other thread.

Whenever this subject has come up in the past and you've made that same accusation, as you well know, I've explained that we have absolutely no problem with anyone posting published info concerning the circumstances of Crothers' death which might offer more info than the sources Midnite has already mentioned so long as they cite the source and it's a reliable source (i.e. not the Enquirer, Star or some other tabloid). As for anything else, Midnite has already covered that...
