While claiming that it's the highest rated show in the history of The 101, their exclusive original programs channel, Direct TV has decided to dump the DS/Bewitched hybrid Passions.
Perhaps the $40 million annual budget for Passions proved too daunting for Direct TV?
In any case, the show, which had around two million viewers on NBC, was pulling in 1/4 of that on Direct, plus more online.
NBC, which just bought Oxegyn (Oh!), feels Passions would do better there. Both the series and Oh! are targeted to younger women.
Plus, Oh! goes into 70 million homes, while The 101 goes into a mere 16 million.
On Oh!, the campy, supernatural based Passions could get it's lost viewers back.
We shall see.........
