If you were put in the situation of Elizabeth Stroddard concerning the children' s behavior, who would you believe? Why?

Mrs. Johnson.
Why?  Because no one pulls the wool over HER eyes.
She didn't just step off the boat yesterday, ya know!  LOL

Mrs. Johnson, there's no nonsense with her. If she says it, you can believe it.

And the winner is:

Mrs. Johnson:  She's a hell of a lot smarter and brighter than Maggie (although at this point in the show, a grapefruit is a hell of a lot smarter and brighter than Maggie).  Amy's got that whole Eddie Haskell thing going on (Word to whoever made that analogy first).  And who would believe David "I'm not lying, Aunt Elizabeth.  Why would I want to hurt my father/steal Miss Winters' letter/break your teacup/rob the Collinsport National Bank Collins?

Mrs. Johnson

I agree with the other posters and one other reason--Mrs. Johnson is a housekeeper.  They are like secretaries in that they know everything going on although they don't necessarily say so.  They know all the important details and without them, it (the house, the company) doesn't run.

I will second that!  She's nobody's fool and doesn't like to play games. You can see how fond she's become of the Collin's family since she first started working there, and she'll do anything for them,  just don't step on her toes!

Ok, I'll play. Consistent with my contrary nature, I will pick Naggie. (I was going to BEFORE I read I was out-numbered, nyeah...) Not because she is such a grapefruit, but because she is the newest to the house. I consider living at Collinwood to be a real detriment to anyone, and the worse for the length of residence.

Of course, I would believe Mrs. Johnson also. What's not to believe from a spy turned loyalty itself? Also, she is the next to newest person currently residing at Collinwood, I think. Julia might have her beat though. Repressed hysteric, my eye!

Maggie Evans! She's so innocent, and tries her best to become friendly with most everyone. David and Amy are little a**holes that can get possessed and Mrs. Johnson is  some maid that would probably blab off her mouth to anyone that can get her higher in life. (hasn't she blabbed her mouth for no reason already?)

Mrs. Johnson. The kids seem to trick Maggie easily since she has not become accustomed to them yet. Mrs. Johnson, however, had kids of her own (though normal) and raised them well (It seems like Harry just got into the wrong crowd). She also has an intuition for when things aren't quite right.

Surprise, surprise...I would choose to believe Mrs. Johnson.  Maggie is still too new to the household and doesn't yet know the children well enough to determine what behavior is normal for them.  Mrs. Johnson, on the other hand, has lived in the house for about two years now and has cared for David.  She has seen him in action, knows his tricks and is sensible enough to be a reliable witness.  If she says the kids are up to something, I think she ought to know.

I'd like to cast a write in vote for Vicki before the writers added "I Don't Understand" to her vocabulary.

As far as Maggie goes...has she forgotten the best way to worm into David's trust is with an Ice Cream Sundae?
