I'd forgotten there was an option to change it.

How *do* you change the color, now I want to 'play'!  ;)

A "shades of grey" scheme would be nice, something to invoke the feel of the B&W episodes  :)

We had a gray theme back in '03. But that doesn't mean it can't make a comeback.  ;)

Although, if you turn the color off on your monitor, any theme can be gray.  ;D

I would have thought the "blue scheme" was gray enough to qualify........[vryevl]

Believe it or not, other than black and white, the only other pure greyscale color (meaning the RGB values all have the same value) used in Variations on Blue is this gray, which is very similar to the color used for the text in Blood Red against the darker background (#e7e7e7 for VoB vs. #e2d8de for BR - which is why I've changed the color of the text in this post to red  ;)). The other colors all have at least a hint of something else (normally blue) to them. It might be only a slight hint that might not even be perceptible to the eye on some monitors - but the hint IS there.  [wink2]

Me thinks it's time to push the "Colors" topic back up to where we can see them...... :D

That's one of the main reasons I use it, actually. It just feels more like DS to me.

But, a black/white/gray one could quickly take it's place  ;D

go to your profile, look under "modify profile" and click on "look and layout preferences", you'll see the option to change your current theme  :)

Huh.  Right.  Like I know how to turn the color off on my monitor.

Thanks retzev!  Well, I previewed the blue, but like the red better, guess I'm just used to it.  ;)

Choosing A Theme

Huh??

When Midnite or I (or even anyone else) posts a quote taken from an altogether different topic, it's actually a link to that other topic. And as has been explained in several spots, that other topic can be reached by clicking the link in the quote's header (Quote from: ... on ...).  :)

And not to put too fine a point on it, but from April 25th until June 27th a request for all members to please read the "Chosing A Theme" topic on the Testing board was posted in the header on every page of the forum (where it currently reads "Happy 40th, DARK SHADOWS!!"  ;)) In fact, all the stickied topics on the Testing board are stickied because they're important info for all members. And as everyone may recall from back when they registered for membership, the forum guidelines contain the paragraph:

"It is the responsibility of posters to this board to familiarize him- or herself with these
guidelines before posting to these forums. It's up to you to periodically check to see
if they have been added to and/or amended. It's also up to you to be sure to read
and follow any instructions that might be posted to either the "Testing. 1, 2, 3..."
board and/or specially marked topics atop any of the other boards. Failure to read
additions/amendments and/or special posts will not be considered an excuse should
you violate a guideline or fail to comply with a request."

Actually, another good topic on the Testing board that can never be pointed to too many times would definitely be:

Posting and You

because the linked Flash tutorial is not only very humorous - it contains info that can never be stressed enough from a forum moderator's/administrator's POV.  :)  Not to mention it alerts one to the hazards which one could easily open oneself up to should one neglect to read stickied topics.  [wink2]
