I'm sure it gets quite boring for Vicki in that room with nothing to occupy her time and no one to talk to. I wonder if barnabas brought her anything to read.

The clock, I assume it was in the Collinwood drawing room, struck eleven. I wonder if DC planned it that way to provide more suspense to the situation of Ben sneaking in to Abigail's room.

Angelique claimed she would protect Ben while he went on her little errand, but all she protected was herself by preventing him from identifying her to Abigail.

I feel so sorry for Ben, he doesn't have any good options no matter where he turns. If he doesn't do Angelique's  bidding she'll kill him. If he does and gets caught, he gets sent back to prison.
Barnabas to little Sarah's ghost: "I forbid you to leave! I beg you to stay!"

Yes, that was odd, wasn't it?  It was a completely unnecessary promise on Angelique's part because she could make Ben do what she wanted anyway - and enjoyed rubbing his nose in the fact.

Today's episode did not get my usual rapt attention because my cat threw up while Angelique was ordering Ben to go filch Abigail's hair ribbon.  My cat is quite smart, but we don't always agree.  I myself was far more tempted to throw up when Angelique was raking Barnabas over the coals for harboring Vicky.  At the end of the conversation, Angelique threw herself into Barnabas's arms and he appeared to be fonder of her than he has been since he agreed to marry her - but why was he so easily appeased?  They've been married less than 24 hours, and already Angelique has thrown two jealous fits.

Thayer David did a wonderful job of looking as though he was being strangled, with the whites of his eyes showing.

I noticed something I never noticed before. At the end of this episode, the credits appeared to be rolling up behind the white trim on the bed canopy! Pretty neat effect! [hall_grin]

Yes, indeed, I thought about Vicki's probably being bored in that room, too! [hall2_wink]

Angelique sure didn't keep her promise! Not too long ago, when Jeremiah's ghost took her to his grave, she told Ben that  she would change and be good from then on. Soap opera characters always say that - and it never  lasts very long! [hall_wink]

Yes, indeed, Thayer David sure did do an excellent job of looking as though he was strangled! [shkdg] He's a wonderful actor! [clap2]

Funny how a house that is supposed to be brand new has ivy growing all over it already.

Well, a house of Collinwood's size would have taken quite a while to complete - even years (the real Seaview was built between 1927 and 1929 - and part of it was already preexisting). Though I suppose the ivy probably wouldn't have spread quite THAT far:

At some point Joshua says that the reason for Collinwood's secret panels is that the house was built during the war, i.e. the war for independence.  The British surrendered at Yorktown in 1781, and the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1783.  That means that Collinwood took at least a dozen years to build.  I wonder how many contractors Joshua went through.

Yes, and it has a basement cell with bit of paint or wallpaper already peeling away!
