Messages - Josette

The one with the stolen furniture just started again a little while ago.  I made sure to pay attention to "Sky."  I just looked him up before posting and it turned out he died just over a year ago, February 23, 2021.  Perhaps it was mentioned here, but I don't recall.

But, you have to wonder if even Willie had enough time and energy to repair every room in the Old House so that everyone would have a comfortable room in the Old House?

I think they gave conflicting messages (as with most other things!).  There were times I thought only the main drawing room downstairs and Josette's bedroom had been restored.  Other times they implied that at least a lot of it had been done.  But, even if the latter, as you said, Bob, would Willie really have had a chance to have done that much at that point?

I was about to mention all of the 1795 family members and guests plus servants' quarters, so I would presume there was room for the current family.  But, had those rooms been restored sufficiently for them to use???

I finally had a chance to watch Barnabas!!  He's also in the giant slalom, and being way down the list didn't make the program for the 1st run.  But, the 2nd run was delayed and is live on USA at 2 a.m., and since they reverse the order of the top 30, he was 3rd to go - so I finally watched him!  They mentioned some of the bio bits I originally listed.  While he's way down the list so won't have a chance for a top finish, he had a nice run and at least finished it!!!

We have a St. Barnabas Health System in one of our suburbs.  It's a really large system with retirement living, nursing home and I guess everything in-between.  They frequently have 1/2 hour infomercials advertising themselves.  They also have a big talent show every year and Jackie Evancho either won or finished 2nd, I think the year before she was on America's Got Talent.

Presumably there was a St. Barnabas that all of these are named for, but I've never really researched who he was.

By the way, Barnabas' sister, Noa Szollos, was in today's race - finished 34th out of 44.  She came very late in the race after NBC had signed off, unfortunately.

I was looking through the list of Olympic competitors in the Men's Alpine Skiing Combined (downhill + slalom) and I noticed one from Israel, which seemed unusual, so I looked closer, and his name is Barnabas Szollos!!  Someone actually named Barnabas (nickname Barni)!

I looked him up and he's originally from Hungary and the family moved to Austria for better training.  I haven't figured out how they have a connection to represent Israel.  The father, a brother and sister are or were all alpine skiers.  The sister is also at this Olympics for Israel.

Unfortunately, they didn't show him on the broadcast!!!

Bob, you always have such original takes on things and suggestions for the show!  I never would have thought of any of those.  And, I never particularly realized about the sheriff.  I guess I just kind of took him for granted when he was there and didn't think about him otherwise!!

Yes, Bob, that was a good one - interesting twists in how it developed and certainly the ending!

I still can't get any pictures!!

Usually in things like this there are a couple of "main" "bad men" and some other henchmen, whom I don't pay much attention to.  I thought perhaps he was one of those, so, as I said yesterday, just as it was starting I looked up the cast to check his character's name.  When I saw it was the same last name as the Linda Marsh character, I realized that he was the brother, and therefore he was the one I was watching right then and I better look closely, because that would be it!!

Now I see why I didn't realize Pennock was in it.  I looked up the character name just before it started so I could be on the lookout.  It turns out he has a bit part at the very beginning and for most of it one doesn't get much of a look at his face.  I was wondering if that could have been his part.

The one with Barnard Hughes was the other night, but I didn't realize he had a DS connection!

For a while MeTV was showing "Thriller," so I must have seen them all at least 3 times.  They stopped it and more recently have been doing Hitchcock, but quite likely could bring it back.  If they do, I'll post it.  I remember the one you're referring to.  It was good, but overall I wasn't wild about it - liked a lot of the others more.
