In the Fast Overnights it looks like Elementary is holding it's own against ABC's How to Get Away With Murder, which has frequently been the most viewed show of the night:
10 p.m:
ABC: "How to Get Away With Murder" (8.5 million, 5.9/10)
CBS: "Elementary" season premiere (8.2 million, 5.2/9)
NBC: "Parenthood" (3.85 million, 2.6/4)
And it should be quite interesting to see how things play out once the Live + 7 DVR numbers come out...
-
'Murder' got mucho buzz because it was the most DVRed show in history when it debuted so I am not overly hopeful about the numbers re: Elementary pulling ahead, but one never knows. I also know that there was a lot of boo hooing about the Elementary premier - and I mean a lot of negative fan comments.

In the normal ratings (meaning those for Live + Same (day) DVR viewing) HtGAWM is down now that Elementary has premiered opposite it, so Elementary has already had an impact against it. And Elementary doesn't have to pull ahead of HtGAWM. That would be nice. But it only has to hold its own against HtGAWM. (And I have to confess to being a fan of both shows, so it really doesn't matter to me which is on top - I'd just like to see them remain fairly close.)
I also know that there was a lot of boo hooing about the Elementary premier - and I mean a lot of negative fan comments.
If some members of the audience really dislike the new protege, then the show is doing exactly what it set out to do. In fact, TPTB have said that the more negative reaction to her, the better. And I'm really curious about the hints that there's "something nefarious" going on with her...

For those in sections of the country where it hasn't shown yet or may be repeated, Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu are on tonight's installment of Extra.

'Elementary's' Sherlock has an unexpected reaction to Watson's new boyfriend (http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/elementary_season_3_sherlock_meets_joans_new_boyfriend-2014-11)

So glad they didn't totally give it away.

Ask Matt: Elementary, ... (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Ask-Matt-Elementary-Selfie-How-Get-Away-Murder-Sleepy-Hollow-Sons-Anarchy-1089684.aspx)
(Question #1. (And you may also want to check out question #12.))
-
Hmmm - apparently Peter Pan was no Sound of Music for NBC because in the Fast Overnights, anyway, Elementary beat it handily:
10 p.m:
CBS: "Elementary" (8.6 million, 5.5/10)
NBC: "Peter Pan Live" (7.2 million, 4.2/7)
-
And Elementary continues to dominate without new eps of How to Get Away With Murder in the picture:
10 p.m:
CBS: "Elementary" (8.2 million, 5.2/9)
NBC: Special - "Blake Shelton's Not So Family Christmas" (4 million, 2.6/5)
ABC: "How to Get Away With Murder" rerun (2.4 million, 1.8/3)
18-49 leader: "Elementary" (1.6)
And how interesting is it that HtGAWM doesn't exactly repeat well? 2.4 million? Elementary gets a hell of a lot more than that when it repeats. (And even though Blake Shelton is popular on The Voice, apparently that didn't translate to his own special.)

Mega Buzz: ... and Elementary's New Nemesis (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Mega-Buzz-Gotham-OUAT-Elementary-1090979.aspx)
(Scroll down to #3. And JLM is featured in a photo.)
-
10 p.m:
CBS: "Elementary" (7.7 million, 5.1/9)
NBC: "People Magazine Awards" (3.8 million, 2.5/4)
ABC: "How to Get Away With Murder" rerun (2.55 million, 1.7/3)
18-49 leader: "Elementary" (1.4)
(Hmmm - looks like that could have been both the first and last People Magazine Awards broadcast. [santa_wink])
