I can't say anything bad about the performances of Ben Cross or Marina Sirtis.  The former can read a phone book and sound compelling.  She is more than capable at conveying madness, so the scary makeup was unnecessary, thank you.

But I deeply regret watching with my daughter, who will eventually be reading it as (I think) a Senior, but in my defense, I expected some resemblance to the themes in the poem.

If it's like every other film adaptation of Beowulf, the burning question will be whether it's deliciously bad or just plain bad. 

Am looking forward to hearing if you found anything delicious about it.

I understand what you meant.  And the line is blurred again when [spoiler]his ghost is hot on the heels of the real witch in 1968 and he becomes the lesser of two evils.  As much as I despised and even feared 1795 Trask as a kid, I actually enjoy seeing him victorious over Cassandra.[/spoiler]
