Wooo!
What a bummer!  and to see the DS connection!  But of course the part that gets overlooked is the ease of access to firearms, even in the times of terrorism!  sheesh!

and times square used to be such a nice place!

God this is terrible.  I agree with Bouchard...

Cassandra:  I have a potion.  You know it well.  As soon as she drinks it, within an hour, she will go to sleep and have the dream.
Nicholas:  I am much to talented to spend my time drugging drinks.

This whole story is a bit too creepy for comfort.

My daughter, who routinely sleep-walks through her morning routine came flying out of her room this morning babbling about this story.  She had heard it on a local (Long Island) radio news report.

I'm afraid the crucifiction of Dark Shadows, the conventions, and we who are fans is about to begin.

I'm more afraid of finding out we've just lost a friend or two.

Additional information available at: www.wnbc.com   (local news channel 4)

An article about the show and conventions is available at:  Newsday.com

The story made the cover of that esteemed publication the New York Post:

Jim Pierson and KLS provided blurbs for the story.

so true
why was he allowed to bring it on the plane????

that creeps me out  more than anything else! The DS
connection is just where they met and seems a very small part of the story!

yep, I 've already heard from several [who know about my dual life [coolb]]  who are really riding this!

But every one asks the same question:  A gun on a plane?  If anyone doesn't know the Lennon murder story, his killer traveled back and forth several times with a weapon, but that was before all the terrorism s***.  Impossible to believe the airlines would accept any - ANY - reason to allow this!  But this is gonna be a black mark for the fans! This is just really tragic - makes me so sad.

Have no doubt that some dimwits will think this reflects badly on Dark Shadows fandom in general.  But the story will probably not get much play outside the NYC press.  And I think most who do hear about it will realize these people could have met anywhere.

The human loss is the tragedy, but the whole gun issue is the scariest part to me. Is it a good thing to make handguns so readily available?  And even though I'm sure the gun must've been in a bag he checked before his flight, the fact that you can even bring one with you on a plane AT ALL just beggars belief!

I don't honestly think that will happen because DS is so tangentially connected to the story that only a person with a complete lack of sense (i.e. reporters of the National Enquirer variety) would remotely consider seriously taking it to that extreme.
