Complete this phrase: "Julia was quite amused with herself when, as a way of dispelling the lingering doubts that the sheriff had about her background, she pulled a fast one on the sheriff and told him...!!"
-
... that she'd spent weeks training at "Doctor University"!!
-
[pointing-up] If only it wasn't until 1975 that Doctors' University was founded in Cebu, Philippines, she could have easily gotten away with that. [wink2] Then again, Patterson might be dumb enough to swallow it anyway. [lghy]

(Did you already know that, or did you Google for it?!)
-
(What do you think? [wink2])
-
That she was born in the wagon of a traveling show, her momma used to dance for the money they'd throw.
-
Uncle Roger!!!! you are a pisser!!!! [ghost_cool]
mind his own God damned business!!!!
-
Thank you. Willie.
I'm off to preach a little gospel and sell a couple bottles of Dr. Good. [ghost_grin] [ghost_smiley]

Too funny!! Love them!! [a1f5] [thumb] And wouldn't it be a hoot if the movie's Julia actually was descended from Magda Rakosi?! [b003]
-
I'm a bit surprised that the program didn't go in that direction.
-
([pointing-up] True!!)
-
We get a few tidbits of information about Julia from Dave Woodard but her past life is still pretty much an enigma.
-
([pointing-up] If any character cried out for a blast from the past to show up, it was Julia!! [nodassent] As you say, her past is pretty much a mystery...)
-
We learn very, very little about Julia in any incarnation of DS. We get lots of sometimes conflicting back story on Elizabeth, Barnabas, Angelique, Paul and others but precious little on Julia. It's very odd because Julia has always been such a popular character.
-
t's very odd because Julia has always been such a popular character.
(Exactly!! [confused5])
-
There's been some attempt to flesh the character out in fan fiction. Some of it's been good, some not. The oddest fan fiction that I ever encountered presented the college age Julia as a dead ringer for Maggie Evans. Some nonsupernatural trauma led to Julia having cosmetic surgery and emerging like Grayson Hall.
-
([pointing-up] Odd, indeed!! [crazd])
-
Sounds like a clear cut case of malpractice, doesn't it?
-
([pointing-up] Most certainly!! [hall2_rolleyes])
-
That particular plot twist (which I think that we can safely assume that no one saw coming) was written by Jeff Thompson. Does it explain matters to point out that he did his doctoral thesis on the collected works of Marilyn Ross?
-
([pointing-up] I knew that about Jeff Thompson - but I didn't know he wrote the story. [ghost_nowink])
Congrats on surpassing 75000 curses!! [clap2]
-
Yes, it was a continuing story that ran in the early issues of The World of Dark Shadows, through the mid to late 1980's. The last chapter that I can remember had Quentin's wife Zelda time traveling to the late 1950's where she was impersonating a cousin of Julia's. Julia was apparently as gullible as the Collins family and welcomed her at face value. Somebody let Barnabas out of his coffin and he headed straight for Julia's neck. Maybe that's why she had the cosmetic surgery but the story stopped appearing before that could be addressed.
And many thanks for all the curses, folks!
-
([pointing-up] Well, at least it sounds more interesting than one might expect! [nodassent])
-
that she was a major leaguer and was trying to hit a home run with her hair
-
[pointing-up] Her hair is so huge that if she swung at a ball with her hair, it would be next to impossible to miss it!! [laughing11] [thumbleft]

Just a little more styling and she'd have Jane Jetson hair.
-
([pointing-up] Too true!! [lghy])
