Happy Birthday Gothick!

Hope your day has been wonderful.

I'm sure that if Grayson were with us, she would lift a glass in your honor!

???---and whatever happened to those girls on the docks that Barnabas wiped out in one bite????? Shouldn't they have returned as vampires?? One or two of them may have, but I don't remember an invasion of vampires in Collinsport!! At the beginning of the series there were references to many attacks. ::)

I could be totally wrong about this, but I think I remember something about Barn strangling them after biting. That way they didn't die of his bite, therefore did not return as vampires.

I was wondering if there had been a cut as well. I found it odd that we never got to see Barnabas try to explain to Roger that Julia was not going to be able to help find Elizabeth, who was missing from Windcliff/Windclift/Wincliff/Winclift - somebody help me here.

I don't know if the scene was ever there, but I was so eager to see how Barn was going to explain it that I noticed it never happened. I was anticipating Roger's incredulous response.

Does anyone know if the scene were ever there to begin with?

Nope, that scene was never there, so we'll never know what excuse Barn gave to Roger. Sounds like a good scene for fanfiction (on other Boards/Lists of course) ;)

I would also add that I've been having this problem for at least a week now.  I wonder if there are people trying to get onto the system who think it is unavailable?   :-[

Joe,

That started happening to me after the Board went down a little over a week ago.  I kept getting that off line message and did not know the Board was actually back online until I decided to try the "reload/refresh" button, and voila, I was back in business. I'm sure that MB can explain that it has something to do with your cache. So now, whenever that happens, I know what button to hit to get the Board back. :)

Yes, Nancy was on The Doctors briefly. She played Nurse Ryker, who was trying to come between Carolee and Steve.  Ah, the memories that brings back. . .

Thanks from the bottom of my Julia-loving heart for another absorbing chapter. :D I can't even begin to figure out yet just exactly where you are going with this, but I'm certainly enjoying the story and  hope that you decide to continue to the end--and don't keep us in suspense too long.

Well, Midnite and I had a wonderful evening last night at LACMA watching Grayson in Qui Etes Vous, Polly Maggoo. I had seen this before without the subtitles and believe me, they definitely are needed to appreciate this film. It was strange, funny and Grayson was wonderful. The opening shots of the metallic fashion show and the doyenne (spelling?) of fashion, Grayson, er, Miss Maxwell, granting her approval were hilarious.

Thanks, Steve, for your info on this film. I certainly could picture Ruth Gordon playing the part, especially Grayson's first scenes.  :)

There was also a small exhibit at the Museum called "A Century of Fashion" which we took in before the movie. Only three examples from the 1960's, but one bright orange pantsuit with white patent leather boots I could just picture Carolyn wearing.

Thanks, Midnite, for helping to make the whole evening enjoyable. [thumb]

I had a great time and was very flattered when Bette suggested that I submit my graduation speech to Kathy Resch's fan magazine, "The World of Dark Shadows."  It had never occured to me, but I thought that it sounded like a fun idea.

Thanks, Profstokes, but I can't take credit for that suggestion. Our own dear Midnite first mentioned that idea to me, if not to you.  :)

I totally agree with you, J99. I have always liked this scene, because it does show that both Barnabas and Julia are aware of what Julia has given up for Barnabas. Maybe she could have returned to her former life at this point in the story. I also like the fact that Barnabas doesn't want her to waste Cassangelique only because of what will happen to Julia if she does. Once she seems determined to do something Barnabas shifts into protect Julia mode and starts questioning Roger about who else may have seen the witch. Love the eye contact between B and J. They both speak volumes with their eyes.
