Bette, it sounds like the person who was working at Amazon, who couldn't get set #2 to me, has gone to work for CD Universe.  That was the same excuse that I got, even though other people had gotten shipments from Amazon at that time.  Since that time one time, I have gotten my sets by the day of the release, which I never used to have happen at all.  It was always a few days after the release date.

I remember that well, Raholt, because I also didn't receive #2 from Amazon even though I had pre-ordered. Then I cancelled my Amazon order and got a copy from CDuniverse right away. Guess I'll have to go back to Amazon now. I hear that MPI is considering a DS DVD club. Think maybe I'll join that if it happens.

Well, my tale of woe is a bit different.  CDuniverse, which has been super fast to get my DS DVDs to me in the past has not even sent #5 to me yet. When I inquired I was told that they have not received a copy yet to send me. Hmmm, maybe if I wait long enough I will get a corrected set.

As a side note: Donna McKecknie(sp) was the lead dancer I believe in a show called 'Hullabaloo' from the mid-60's.  We've seen some of the videos and she is quite talented at least as far as the dancing goes. It's too bad that they had those huge eyelashes on her for Dark Shadows since she was so naturally pretty.

She certainly was a talented dancer and she can still do some of the steps. In her show she talks about Hullabaloo-it's where she first met Michael Bennett. As to the eyelashes--when Midnite and I saw her in the lobby after the show, guess what she was wearing; great huge false eyelashes  :-   See the picture under the heading "Born to Diva"

Great review, Midnite. And I have to say that for the most part I agree with you.   Though not the best one-woman show I ever seen  (especially having seen Elaine Stritch do HER  solo show in the same week) Mckechnie nevertheless was enjoyable to watch and I really enjoyed her singing.  The finale was nostalgic for me too, since I did see her in A Chorus Line in San Francisco many long years ago.  I loved your comments about the audience. It's been a long time since I've considered myself one of the younger members of an audience. :D

The best part of the whole day, though, was having dinner with DS friends.  Midnite and I never miss a chance to get together and we were lucky enough to be joined by Profstokes and Victoriawinters. If it really is the end for the yearly Fest, these opportunities to get together with other DSers  will be even more important.

One last thing about McKechnie--she looked much better in the lobby than she did  on the stage.  I guess stage lighting is not always flattering.

There are some hilarious, all too brief shots of Grayson in one of those early Sixties Paris knockoff hats with the huge wavy brim and a jacket with this big elaborate gilt fob hanging off one side puffing on her endless cigarette holder appraising her gal in the latest ensemble.

Thanks for the link. As many times as I've seen my favorite Grayson flick it's always nice to see another reminder of a priceless character.

Bette  (wondering where I can get one of those hats!)

I am having a similar problem Cassandra, ...

...

It was a relief to see that someone else had this also because I was beginning to think that my computer was possessed!!  LOL!!!

What I find fascinating about this from a programming standpoint is that the same PHP script (Post.php) is called for posting both topics/replys on the boards and sending/replying to IMs. It should act the same way in both cases. But, Cassandra, you seem to be indicating that you're only having the problem of a wider box when you use the IM feature. Or does the same thing happen for topics/replys? And what about you, Bette - do you only get it for IMs or both?

OK, I'm replyng to your post and my message box is still too long for the screen, just like it is when I IM.

I love the color! It comes out as purple with light lilac text on my screen. Beautiful and definitely a keeper.  :D

I also think it might be fun for fans to think of getting together just to socialize and share the weirdness that is DS.  That, for me, is why I kept going back.

The NYC Festivals have turned into cattle calls in recent years.  I would prefer something a little more intimate and low-key, myself.

That is a wonderful suggestion Steve, and I wholeheartedly agree. The people that I have met are the only reason that I look forward to the Fests. I just hope that if it happens, it won't always be on the east coast.

The LAST Fest?? I guess i'll be getting my butt on the subway!! The question is. . . will Frid be there?  If they are gonna do a finale play thing???  And I gotta add (although I'll get more curses and be away from that lovely "69" curse #). . they better have something **good** have happened to Julia or I'll boo!!! And I'm sure the JULIA Mafia (that's what self-stylized ourselves last year) will join in. . . [angrg]

Dream on, J99. I'd say that chances of them even including the characters of Barn and Julia in their little skit are remote, except as objects of humor such as they have been in the past. I'd guess that Angelique and Quentin will be the stars of this little show.

Don't mind me guys. I'm just really bummed out about this because it really looks as though I won't be able to get to NY this year and I had been consoling myself with the knowledge that the Fest would be on the west coast next year.

I think that it happens even in reply, but I'll have to let you know for sure when I try it from home, which probably won't be until tomorrow after work.

Hi MB,

What's going on with the Instant message box?  Not sure if it's just happening to me but when I go to IM to send a message to someone I now get a message box that's about a mile long horizontally.   The box is so big it's hard to find anything and I have to manuever my mouse all around just to find the send button.

I am having a similar problem Cassandra, though not quite as bad as yours. This only happens when I log on at home on my Imac with AOL 5.0. The message box is so long that I have use the arrows to move it  to see what I'm typing.  It is a pain in the you-know what. The finished message does come out OK on the Board.

But there he was this AM on Mysteries and Scandals on E!.  (He wasn't mysteroius or scandalous-didn't even touch his hair)

What was this about?

I didn't see it, but my guess would be that it was about the life and death of the actor Peter Deuel, who starred in Alias Smith and Jones when he killed himself. Davis was a friend of his and took his place in the series.
