A great big hug to Heather for posting those fabulous shots of Pepe/Grayson. I'd also love to have copies.

And to answer other questions, SIHH was made around 1962 IIRC, or at least released then. I got the movie from Amazon and it is frequently available on eBay, both VHS and DVD.

Out of these 10, who do you think would be the most fun to see?

If your choice isn't on the list, who is it?

I voted for Donny. I'd love to see what he looks like today.

Anthony George was not on your list. I'd like to see him too.

Also, Matt Hall came to one Fest years ago. I'd like to see him come again, since Grayson can't be there and I don't know if Sam Hall is in any condition to attend. How old would he be now, Steve?

Whoa! Certainly an, uh, lively article. But probably one perfectly befitting that production.  ;)  And I love Pennock's cartoons - they're hysterical!  :D

Thanks so much for the link, Bette.  :)

Your welcome, MB. I'm glad that Chris  seems to have come out of the whole thing with his sense of humor intact. I'm also very happy that Midnite and I did not make the mistake of going to see the show on opening (and closing?) night!

Speaking of Donna McKechnie, she can also be seen in the new documentary film called "Broadway: the Golden Age" a wonderful film filled with interviews with many Broadway greats about their experiences on the Great White Way.

Anyone who loves Broadway should definitely make an effort to see this film!

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 II / More on Pennock in Hamlet
« on: July 10, 2004, 09:46:32 PM »
LA Weekly wrote an article about the disastrous production of Hamlet  that Chris Pennock was involved in early this year. And Chris himself provided the cartoons which accompany the article.

Try this link:

If this doesn't work, go to laweekly.com and search for "Hamlet."

{Duh, I didn't know End of the Road had an X rating.  Was it because of the abortion scene?  But I don't recall it being all that graphic.}

I can't remember too much because I've only been able to sit through that godawful movie once. I seem to remember lots of nudity and weird behavior. The only good thing about that movie was the wonderful close-up of the glorious Grayson.

Oh, and the fact that she shed the top half of her two-piece bathing suit in front of Stacy Keach before she applied her tongue to his face.   :o

Here's a hint:  J99's last name begins with a J.

Current Talk '04 I / Re: Art Wallace's "The House"
« on: June 21, 2004, 12:34:11 AM »
I went to www.tvtome.com (which has episode guides and lists for almost every television show) and found "Goodyear Television Playhouse".  the show ended in 1957 and there was no episode titled "The House" in the episode guide.

Sometimes books are still better than the Internet.  :D

The reference book "Television Drama Series Programming: a Comprehensive Chronicle, 1947-1959" does list The House by Art Wallace showing on Sept. 8, 1957 as a part of The Goodyear Theatre, which at that time was alternating with The Alcoa Hour.

Loved that moment. Along with "Don't make me take steps Dr. Shannon."

Great Avatar, BTW. Julia and the Q-man, together again.  :D

I do think it's slightly hysterical that the "NEWS" in the 4th band along the top of the frame is written with letters that are a slightly darker version of the background color (something I'd call sick salmon--I'm color blind so who knows what it *really* is), which makes the text all but illegible--sounds like an administrator's clever commentary upon the new software.

On my computer it's a kind of lime green text on a gray background, but, as you say, it's almost unreadable.  :(

I'll be there, along with several of my fellow Graysonhallics, some of whom you met last year.   :D

Look under "Dark Shadows Weekend 2004" and "Membership/Order Form".

Thanks for the link, Profstokes. Lots of new info has been added. I'm particularly intrigued by the promise of rare video at the Banquet. Hmmmm,  now what could that be? Guess I'll have to go to the Banquet even though I hate the hassle they put you through beforehand. I was thinking of skipping that part this year.
