Title: DS Writers
Post by: Patti Feinberg on May 18, 2003, 08:26:19 PM
Hello all.

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the writers on DS.

Such as...who they all were, ages (when writing DS), what they did prior to DS and after.

Also, did any of them write certain scenes solo? Or was it usually collaboration?

Any info would be appreciated.

Patti

Francis Swann started out writing plays and screenplays. Ended up writing soft gothics (I own a couple). I looked him up some time ago for the last incarnation of this forum. Don't have my notes handy, sorry.

I believe Art Wallace wrote an episode of the original Star Trek.

Violet Welles had some kind of journalistic background.

Violet Welles also did some behind-the-scenes theatre stuff, as a publicist, I think...

Good question - one I've been wanting to ask and find out the answer to. My imagination has always lead me to conclude that an episode's direction would be discussed among the writers and then one of them would be assigned to write a particular episode.

I have all the DS publications but have read nary a one. I hate reading, and yes - I'm ashamed. I wonder if the answer is in one of them?

dom (who mostly only buys books with pictures in them, lol)

PS - I hope to actually read Art Wallace's, Shadows On The Wall, one day.
