The best part of the trip was all the "old ladies" who gave me free advise on how to care for him. I mentioned he had a rash and I got five different cures from five different women. The best part was that every time one of them would off board, the rest would say she didn't know what she was talking about. The last lady remaining had suggested cornstarch, so I went with that, lol. Uh, where was I? Oh yeah, I think it's the RR. (But don't take my word for it.)

ROTFL!!!  Dom, I wish I could have seen this!  If anyones equipted to give good advice concerning children, it's definetely the "old ladies" who have a milestone of experience behind them.

This reminded me of Clark Gable (Brett Butler) in "Gone With The Wind" when he was taking his infant daughter out for a stroll and met up with a few old ladies who were just so happy to give him free advice on how to stop his infant daughter from sucking her thumb!  ;-)

Take the bus to Port Authority (42nd Street) and take the subway from there. I don't know which subway line that is off hand but if you call the hotel they will tell you which line(s) to use.

Nancy

Thanks Nancy i'm sure i'll be asking for your help next summer!

hey, at that time of year, i believe the 6 week saratoga meeting is going on. I have always heard that its a beautiful track with great racing, gonna go there sometime. I dont know what would be more fun, hitting a big trifecta or meeting this knucklehead bunch [heh]
its a sudden death that i know, my father wrote me to say that, my cousin, uncle jeremiah was, was very disturbed.

Hi guys!! I have a computer again.

Thanks for the link, Castlebee. I just found a map. This place is very close to the city.

http://go.vicinity.com/marriottd/NavMap.d?E=biksG8XMMTr61Cr

It's also a block from a major subway station. Getting into the city will be a snap and not take too long.  Joggers and walkers will probably want to follow the green line straight across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Now I just need to find out how close this place is to Junior's, and you can all go for cheesecake. :D

I was also expecting this to be at the Marriott Marquis, BUT...I will definitely be there.

Now, does anyone have Vlad's email addy to give me?  My old address book is on the old computer, which went right out the door with my fiance a few months ago...

Hi Tripwire!! The Saratoga Race Course(oldest in the nation)is only a 30 minute drive from me. It's a beautiful track open from end of July to Labor Day.  Go to www.nyra.com/Saratoga. If you have Quick Time, it'll give you a virtual tour.
Hollywood has been here filming scenes for the movie, "Seabiscuit", the last several weeks. I think Tobey Maguire is in it.

Welcome back, sheilamarch, and welcome to dsboards!

HTML doesn't work because the Forums use YaBB codes, which are listed in the Help section under posting.

I tried to fix your image code but I can't get the URL to work.  There's a navigation map here:

http://www.marriott.com/epp/map.asp?MarshaCode=NYCBK

but I can't find the one you're trying to bring up, sorry.

Vlad's email address is hidden, but since yours isn't I'll send it to him.  But you can reach any member by sending an IM.  There's a tiny icon of a page with an envelope on top of it in everybody's posts, and clicking on it will open a message window with their username already filled in.

Yes, Midnite, I see I should have visited that room called "Testing 1 2 3" before I just leaped in...

It's good to be back, even if I am saddled with the title of "newbie". LOL

When you get off the Brooklyn Bridge coming from Brooklyn, where exactly are you? The idea of crossing the Brooklyn Bridge by walking or jogging kind of freaks me out.

Down by the South Street Seaport.  You're below Little Italy and Chinatown.
