Maybe Denise Carey should actually sell it to him. Murphy would certainly have more money than she does to pay for all the needed repairs.    And as someone who loves DS, Murphy would also understand that the house is part of "the lexicon of famous horror homes in America," as he puts it, so I doubt he would discourage fans from visiting, if not the inside (which is absolutely nothing like the show, anyway), at least the outside.
