Funny, I heard crys vaguely in the distance, but I thought ihey sounded more like moans of despair from teachers/administrators who've not only seen school funding slashed (thanks to state budget shortfalls and Federal policies) but have learned that they're expected to accomplish a hell of a lot more with a hell of a lot less resources. :-

Oh MB...waddya you complaining about...come on...Iraq NEEDS 34 B I L L I O N dollars to rebuild (since we tore it down).

I mean, hey, who needs health insurance or quality education?

(in my own district...no art, no music) only 2 3rd grade teachers, plus many, many cuts AND they've SUBSTANTIALLY raised property insurance, ie, less for more!

But hey....let's give some $$$ to some 'underpriviledged' country (like, America)

And I don't know if my 'crowd' was hip or not....but I wore a jungle fatigue jacket with MY last name on (courtesy of Uncle Sam and my older brother) that was considered THE coolest thing in my high school.....except in winter when I wore a full length black opera cape.
