So I assume that putting a .wav clip of music or dialogue from any broadcast, be it the news or a TV show, on a website, is illegal?  Would it stand to reason that putting a screen capture on a website is likewise illegal?

I'd prefer Frid and Selby with top hats and canes, arm in arm, doing a song and dance routine.

Now THAT'S Entertainment!   :-*

(Would anyone else besides me buy a ticket to that?)

Connie, click "Next", and on the next couple of pages too.  There are 8 photos in all.

OMG - THANK you!!  I'm always MISSING everything.
What great pictures!  Much better than the ones those newspaper sites have up.  (Some have been soooo crummy and grainy they must compress them a million times or something).
THESE are so nice.  How sweet.  And the hair!  YES.....YES!!!
Keep going!  Longer!   ROFL
See the curls in the back?  Ah......so precious.

Signed,
Selby-Stricken

I'll grant you that superficial is boring. Crude can be a bore as well. But sex-laden entertainment definitely has its place.  [wink2]

Particularly if it takes place at Collinwood.  [wink2]

At davidselby.com they've posted a couple of pictures of David receiving the degree.  They're in the Photo section, in Other Photos.

Thanks to Criseyde for the heads up re: the link to the radio broadcast of that interview.  Never would have noticed that link in a million years.  (Is it me, or do they seem to not put their links in order - last to first, or first to last).
Anyway, it IS nearly impossible to listen to with all the delays, buffering and whatever.  You sit and wait for what seems like forever, hear a few words, then wait forever again.  It's a 20+ minute news broadcast, and he's near the end.  After a few attempts at getting the thing to play at all, I managed to capture the thing, clicking "pause" in my software during all the buffering.  For anyone who gave up in frustration trying to hear this thing, I would be happy to send you a little MP3 of it.  There isn't much (the interviewer seems to talk more than he does), but.....there ya go.  IM me or something, if ya want it.
I also have the Love Letters phone interview and Final Assault interview, if there's anyone who didn't get the chance to hear them.

I can't imagine that capturing a snippet from a news broadcast is any sort of violation of copyright, but what do I know?  It's not like it would be used for anything -- just shared privately.
I can see it all now!  Item up for bid on EBAY....

Seeing this post reminded me of a certain 'wardrobe' malfunction on DS during the 1897 flashback.  It involved Quentin (who else  :o). Does anyone recall the incident?

No!  What was this?
Any wardrobe malfunction involving Quentin sounds good to me.  (Particularly if his pants are involved)  [grinb]

In addition, www.davidselby.com provides the link to another weekend article (in Morgantown's Dominion Post) that also has a nice photo and some fascinating (well, to me ;)) info about upcoming projects.  :D

Oooo!  THIS is an interesting article....a book that's being edited and upcoming projects.  Also, THIS:

Quote from article:
Quote
"...I had to take bonehead English...It was an English proficiency class. You had to pass this bloody exam before you could graduate. It took me three times."

Um.......Uh oh!!  ROFL
This gives me pause.  ???
Among some credit requirements I'm getting out of the way this summer is an English Comp II course.  I figured, "yeah, no problem."  Maybe I better re-think this!  LOL  It's been a long time since I took a college level English course.  If it took him 3 times to pass "bonehead English", then I think I'm in trouble 'cause he was born a helluva lot smarter than I was!!
(Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated)

BTW, commencement video info is here:

WHOA!  DUDE!!*
I'm there!  This is great.  I want this video -- want to know EVERYTHING he had to say.

Signed.
Can't afford it but that's too bad 'cause I'm getting it anyway.

In the Sunday Gazette Mail there's an article about David Selby's commencement address today.  It gives a few quotes and sort of gives an idea of the flavor of his address.  There's also a nice little picture.  (Aw.....what a sweetie)

It would be great to be able to read his speech wouldn't it??  [thumb]   (A video would be even better)  [grinb]

Scary that we know these, eh?

Terrifying.  [lghy]

I remember that Grandma-mamma Edith Collins' will was dated March 3, 1897....

Poor Quentin is never going to live that little blooper down.

Hmm....
For some reason October 28th sticks in my mind as Quentin's supposed birthday.  Then again, that would make him a Scorpio and I cahn't see it.....rally i cahn't.

I've always slammed Ms Durkin because I thought she was godawful.

I thought she was awful too.   :-X
Talk about overdoing it......(over-emoting?)  Ya gotta give her an A+ for effort and enthusiasm though.
Truth be told, I never thought much of Alexandra Moltke's acting either.  [a2a3]  Talk about under-doing it.  (Is there such a word?)  The only person on DS who comes to mind, who was more expressionless was Anthony George.

I LIKED her though.  Loved looking at her....and what a beautiful head of hair.  I used to stare at her hair.  (that rhymes)
