David Jay, After Dark Shadows
« on: March 20, 2019, 09:11:49 AM »
I was on a soap opera message board and ran across a posting from a former child actor who posted under the screen name TimWil. He recalled going on an audition as a potential recast as Chucky Shea, one of Lisa's sons on As The World Turns in 1972. One of the other actors up for the part was David Jay. TimWil hysterically describes him as looking like the image of the boy on the Dutch Boy paint can. Neither of them got the part but they continued to run into each other at auditions.
TimWil ended up being cast as David's understudy in a 1974 production of Macbeth at Lincoln Center; he played Macduff's son. Others in the cast were John Heard, Carol Kane, Christopher Walken and Christopher Lloyd!

According to IMDb, he also played a character named Ross on Love Is A Many Splendored Thing, the CBS soap, in 1972. I couldn't find any further information about his character. And, as was common for the time, most of the videotapes were wiped and reused.
