Don't forget PT1970 where Quentin carried his wife, Maggie (nee Evans) Collins over the threshold while she was in a pseudo-mini and we all sang "I see London, I see France. I see Maggie's..."
In the early through middle seventies, when I was in junior and senior high school, maxis were a common fashion rage among the girls along with minis. There were a few midis which were uber-minis. I'm surprised my high school allowed them considering I grew up in a very conservative town. Some girls dared to come bra-less. How daring!
Of course, everything, whether donned by male or female, was made out of flashy, colorful polyester. (Make sure to watch the Match Game episodes from that era on GSN.) It was actually dangerous. One misplaced cigarette (and everyone smoked back then), and an entire school would go up in flames faster than Chamberlain High on prom night with Carrie present.
