How sad ...
« on: September 19, 2003, 04:52:13 PM »
that we are saying good-bye to so many of DS's central characters, not to mention one of our favorite actors, KLS!

POSSIBLE SMALL SPOILER:

Fortunately I know from past experience that I will enjoy the 1840 storyline and what follows.  Ah well, at least Barnabas and Julia will be with us for the duration.

By the way, I love those farewell montages.  The one honoring Quentin reminds me of reasons why I found his ghost scarier than Gerard's.  Not only did Quentin behave more subtly and ghostly than Gerard but his subdued yet menacing presence made his wild laugh on the landing of the abandoned Collinwood so scary that it sent chills down my back!  Ultimately I guess it's all in dramatic contrasts and in that all-important element of surprise.

As of this afternoon I have 2 days of DS to catch up with.  Something to look forward to.

Have a great weekend everyone!   [wavey]

True, he was really scary.  And then again, he was pretty frickin' sexy too, in those muttonchop sideburns!  >:D

I must have missed the Quentin farewell montage. Too bad. I guess that's the only drawback of only using the "search new" feature to navigate the board. I usually only find out that there is a farewell montage when it it mentioned in a post.

PS - I agree, Quentin's ghost gave me the chills, even the fourth time around. Love watching DS late at night with all the lights out - enhances the chill factor. When I was a kid I lived in an apt. And I used to cover the windows in the TV room with blankets and towels so it would be totally dark (when I watched DS). Get busted just one time and you get ribbed about it by your family the rest of your life! LOL. Thank goodness they never caught me using those towels and blankets while doing my Supremes act!  ;D

Hi Doll, the Quentin montage is still up today.  You have to look at the listing of topics on the "Current Talk" page.

have fun,

Speaking of cake, Patti, I am definitely gonna be in Jersey come October. I'll bring the cake, you bring the coffee.  ;D

You think we should invite our DS Forums Jersey brethren to the party? :D Hmm, but that means we'll have to share our cake.  :(  [lol2]

LOL! Hey Dom - my sister and I were heavily into lip sync too back when - complete with hairbrush microphones and lovely evening gowns made out of bed sheets. I know we must have done the Supremes at one time or another since we both loved their music.  We could have all formed a group and gone on the road - ahhh, the missed opportunities in life! [snhnsn]
