I just found out that DS director Henry Kaplan died last week here in NYC. It was posted in the NY Times on Monday the 19th. He was 79. This was the guy who would literally grade the performances of the actors after each taping- just ask Lara Parker! He also directed for "Ryan's Hope" & "All My Children". :'(

Rest in Peace Henry.
I will never forget Lara talking about how there performances were graded by him. I think she said something about getting a B- or something to that effect.

Thanks for posting this information. It does seem that a number DS alumni have passed away this past year. Sad.

I've heard about Henry's passing on another board. So sad to hear the news.
Rest In peace Henry we love you
Love Anne :-* :'(

Wow, this was out of the blue. I wish to recommend to anyone who hasn't picked them up, the "Fear and Loathing on Dark Shadows" comic books by Chris Pennock. Chris has made quite a character out of Kaplan's eccentricities.
In pace requiescat, Henry

He's selling all 5 vols. of his comics for $45-- a savings of $30, not factoring in any shipping charges.
